What You Can Use to Clean a White Patio Dining Table

What You Can Use to Clean a White Patio Dining Table

Despite its low maintenance and high durability, white patio dining table that is made of resin is a bit difficult to keep clean. The furniture remains exposed to harsh environmental conditions, leading to discoloration from mildew and other outdoor elements. If cleaned and maintained properly using simple tips, resin furniture can retail its glossy look and last for several years.

Water. The first step to cleaning white resin table is a simple spray of water. The furniture can be sprayed down with a garden hose. The stream of water helps remove any loose debris. A bucket filled with warm water with a mixture of one cup dishwasher powder can be applied to white resin furniture as well. The table can be scrubbed with the solution, and rinsed with the hose.

Bleach Solution. A solution of ¾ cup regular household bleach, a gallon of water and a tablespoon of laundry detergent can be used to remove tough stains on resin furniture. Mix the solution well and test a small amount on the furniture in a hidden area to avoid discoloration. Apply the solution to a small area and let it sit for 5 minutes. Scrub the area with a sponge or soft-bristled brush and rinse well.

Vinegar. Vinegar is an effective cleaner for removing mold and mildew. It inhibits the growth of bacteria on the furniture for some time. One cup of white vinegar can be applied along with a tablespoon of dishwashing soap or baking soda. The solution can be sprayed onto the mildew and gently scrubbed with a soft brush. The furniture should be rinsed well with water and allowed to air dry.

Krylon Paint. A paint for white resin, Krylon Fusion can serve as a last resort for non-removable discoloration. The furniture should be wiped down with an ammonia-based cleaner or paint thinner to remove any particles and dust. The area should be completely taped off to avoid unwanted paint stains. Hold the paint 8 to 10 inches from the furniture and spray in a horizontal, sweeping motion. An application of multiple thin coats will suffice until the surface is completely covered.

Aside from proper care and maintenance, early deterioration of your white resin table can be prevented by buying high quality pieces. Below are some examples.
